My quilts are inspired partly by nature, partly by old handicrafts and decorative arts. Upon seeing discarded laces, faded embroideries and decorative motifs from the depth of cupboards I have ideas emerging and developing. I like to preserve old beauties, and place them into a new environment so that my quilts have something to say to modern people. Colours and colour relationships are of key importance for me.

I often recycle fabrics, particularly silk and cotton, by using different dyeing and printing techniques. In addition to using the sewing machine, I am also drawn to hand stitching and embellishment.
