The art quilt group Modern Movement was established by ten like-minded artists in 2006. The aim of our community was to extend and develop technical and artistic skills, to learn about the newest materials and techniques, and  to discover the international trends.

 

In 2009 the group decided to work for exhibitions around themes that are chosen together. The themes are supposed to be wide enough to be challenging and thought-provoking but not to constrain individual creative processes and ideas.

 

Currently, the group has 18 members. All of them havs strong personal perspectives and all work individually. At the monthly meetings they strive to find answers to the questions posed by their own individual creative processes. Thinking together is instructive for everyone, therefore the working processes of the group include analyzing works in progress and monitoring ideas from concept to realization.
